Another Call to Save the Trumbull School Building

Posted in Neighborhood News by claycerny on September 6, 2014

Ben Joravsky of The Reader explores the closing of Trumbull School and Edgewater’s battle to save the building. Joravsky suggests that Mayor Emanuel had to close a couple of North side schools. Trumbull drew the short straw. Now politicians want to put something in place of the school that will generate tax revenues, which means tearing down a great old building. Joravsky refers to signs in the neighborhood to “save Trumbull.” You can help in that effort by signing a petition provided by the Edgewater Historical Society. There are several proposals to reuse and repurpose the building. We don’t need more condos or another grocery store. Save Trumbull.
